A Customer Group is a label you put on customers, such as "Members", "Regulars", or "Staff", that a Variant can require to be visible. A Variant with no group restriction is visible to everyone. One restricted to "Members" only appears for customers in that group.
This is how member pricing or early access works: create the group, add customers to it, and restrict the relevant Variant(s) to it.
